Student Transportation Programs
Students can avoid the parking crunch and alleviate commuting stress by taking advantage of alternate transportation programs offered by CSUF. Reduce your commuting costs, and make productive use of your commuting time by carpooling, riding the bus or commuting by train to campus.

Student Carpool Zone
Student Carpool Permit registration will be available August 1st for fall and January 1st for spring. A current student semester permit is required before submitting an application.
To purchase a permit, you must access your Parking Account by logging into the Campus Portal, click on the "Parking" tab then follow the steps. For more information regarding online semester permit sales please click here.

Train and Bus Programs
Ride Metrolink for 10% off
10% discounted student monthly passes and 10-trip tickets are available through the ticket vending machines at all Metrolink stations. While riding the train, students must show their student identification along with a valid pass or ticket upon request of fare enforcement personnel. Transportation to CSUF from local train stations
OCTA provides transportation between the Anaheim Canyon rail station (Route #24) and the Fullerton Transportation Center (Route #26) to CSUF. There is no fee to board an OCTA bus if you show your Metrolink pass. For train station and CSUF bus stop locations click here. Amtrak
Amtrak offers students 15% off rail fare to all of their destinations. Detailed information is available on their website at www.amtrak.com.
Bus Program
Octa U-Pass Program
The U-Pass program was designed to get you to campus and back without the hassle. It is available to all CSUF students, faculty, and staff. Just pick up a U-Pass from the Parking & Transportation Office and swipe your pass through the fare box inside the bus, and your fare is automatically paid on all local routes. It’s easy. Metro/Transit Pass Reimbursement Program
Parking & Transportation will reimburse CSUF Faculty, Staff, and students who have purchased a Metro bus pass. Metro honors all OCTA 7-, 15- and 30-Day passes on its four Metro routes (275, 362, 460, 490) that operate into Orange County or connect with OCTA buses.

Cycling and Walking
Bicycling and walking are healthy, enjoyable forms of exercise. If you live 10 miles from campus, commuting by bike instead of by car will prevent 80 pounds of pollution from reaching the air we breathe. Bike commuting can save you money! According to the American Automobile Association the average cost to own and operate a car is 40 to 50 cents per mile. If you live 5 miles from campus, bike commuting can save you $1,000 per year. If you live 10 miles from campus, bike commuting can save you $2,000 per year. Additionally, you do NOT have to pay any parking fees!
