Parking Tickets

You must respond to your parking ticket within 21 calendar days  or 14 days after receiving a delinquent notice of issue by (1) paying the amount due, or (2) Contesting the parking ticket.

Due to nightly system maintenance, online transactions cannot be completed from 10:00pm to 3:00am.

Pay for your parking ticket:

  1. Online with your credit card (Discover, MasterCard, Visa)
    1. Student & Faculty/Staff: Login through your Campus Portal and click on the "Parking Tab" to access your Parking Account
    2. Guest/Non-Affiliates: Individuals not affiliated with the University have the option to create a Parking Account online through the Non-Affiliate/Guest login
  2. By check or money order payable to:

    Please include the ticket in the envelope or reference the ticket number on the check. Penalty will be assessed for dishonored checks. Do not send cash .

  3. In person at the CSUF Parking & Transportation Office, T-1400, Monday- Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Contest Parking Ticket - 1st Level Administrative Review

You may submit a statement of facts including copies of permits, placards, or other information relevant to evaluate the circumstances surrounding the issuance of the parking ticket.

  1. Contest your parking ticket online
    1. Student & Faculty/Staff: Students and Faculty/Staff must login through the Campus Portal and click on the "Parking Tab" to access your Parking Account
    2. Guest/Non-Affiliates: Individuals not affiliated with the University must create a Parking Account online to contest a parking ticket through the Non-Affiliate/Guest login
  2. Mail a copy of the ticket with your name, mailing address, and reason for contest to:

  3. Complete a Parking Ticket Review form at the CSUF Parking & Transportation Office, T-1400, Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM.

Contest Parking Ticket - 2nd Level Administrative Hearing

Per CVC 40215 (b); if a person is dissatisfied with the results of the initial review, the person may request an administrative hearing of the violation no later than 21 calendar days following the mailing of the results of the issuing agency’s initial review.  The request may be made by telephone, in writing, or in person.  The person requesting an administrative hearing shall deposit the amount of the parking penalty with the processing agency.  The issuing agency shall adopt a written procedure to allow a person to request an administrative hearing without payment of the parking penalty upon satisfactory proof of an inability to pay the amount due.

Scheduling an Administrative Hearing

Administrative Hearings are scheduled in 15 minute intervals, on the second Tuesday of each month. You must pay for your parking ticket(s) to request an administrative hearing. Once payment has been made, an administrative hearing appointment will be scheduled for you.

Administrative Hearing Fee Waiver

Individuals unable to pay for their ticket(s) at the time of requesting an administrative hearing may request a fee waiver by submitting the following:

  • Request for Waiver of Fine Deposit form
  • Copy of your W2 form or a W2 form from whomever you are dependent

Failure to submit all necessary documentation by the due date indicated on the appeal results letter/delinquent notice will result in normal processing of your ticket(s) and forfeiture of your opportunity to obtain an administrative hearing appointment.

Administrative hearing appointments will be scheduled upon approval of the fee waiver request.

Ticket(s) upheld by the Administrative Hearing Officer are required to be paid within one (1) week of the hearing results or the ticket(s) will be subject to delinquent fees and subsequently a DMV hold on the vehicle's registration.

Violation Fine

Violation of Rules and Regulations-

(No valid permit displayed, exceeding time limit, parking in a reserved space, displaying expired permit, etc.)


Safety Violations-

(Fire lane, bike lane, walkway, blocking other vehicles, etc.)

Displaying Forged/Altered Permit or Displaying Lost/Stolen Permit $350.00
Disabled Zone Violations $330.00

Boot Information

Car Boot

Vehicles with five (5) or more outstanding University parking tickets will be booted (CVC 22651.7). The only way to remove a boot is to pay all outstanding parking violation penalties and fees in full. You can easily avoid having your vehicle booted by taking care of all tickets within the allotted time period by either paying or contesting the tickets. Removing or attempting to remove a boot from an immobilized vehicle will result in University Police involvement.

  • You have 24 hours to contact Parking and Transportation. After that 72 hours, the vehicle may be impounded.
