Parking Permits

Faculty/Staff Permits

  • Faculty/Staff permit types: Represented Semester, Non-Represented Semester, Payroll Deduction
  • Parking permits are required at all times except on observed holidays when University offices are closed. There is no grace period.
  • Purchase Permit Online
    Purchase your Faculty/Staff semester permit online through the Campus Portal starting July 1, 2008. Click the link for the complete details on online permit sales.
  • Purchase Permit In-Person
    Faculty/Staff semester parking permits can be purchased at Parking and Transportation (T-1400) Monday-Friday 7am - 5pm. You must present your CSUF Titan Card or other picture identification to verify employment status via People Directory.
  • Display of permit
    Permits should be hanging from the rear view mirror of the vehicle, with number clearly visible. Any other display may result in a parking violation notice. The California Vehicle Code (CVC) requires that the permit be removed before driving the vehicle.
  • Fees
    Permit type and fee is determined by employment status according to CMS and People Directory at the time of purchase. Prior to purchasing your semester parking permit please make sure your employment contract has been completed. Employees without an active contract will only be eligible for a student semester parking permit.
  • Expiration
    Dates that the permits are valid for are printed on the permits.

Student Semester Permits

Daily Permits

  • When and where to purchase
    Daily permits are sold at permit machines in Lots A, E, G, Arts Drive and levels 2, 4, 6 of State College Structure. Daily permits are valid in all student lots and parking structures. After 6:00pm your permit is valid in all Faculty/Staff lots except Lots F, H and I.
  • Display of permit
    The permit must be displayed on the interior front dash with the date side up. The date and number must be visible to be valid.
  • Fees
    The cost of a daily permit is $5.00
  • Expiration
    Daily permits are valid on the day purchased for that day only.

Request Daily Permits for Visitors and Guests

  • When and where to purchase
    Use the PRO (Permit Request Online) system to request daily permits for visitors and guests. The requests should be made at least 24 hours in advance for paid permits, and 72 hours in advance for complimentary permits.

    The cost of a paid daily permit is $5.00

Disabled Person (DP) Permits

Students, Faculty, and Staff with disabilities who have been issued a DMV Disabled Person (DP) placard may park in any designated DP space, Faculty/Staff space or 30 Minute Visitor space and MUST display both the DMV DP placard/plates AND a valid CSUF Parking Permit when parked on campus. Parking arrangements for temporary disabilities may be made with Disabled Student Services at (714) 278-3117.

Motorcycle Permits

  • Fees
    Summer is $9.00
    Fall and Spring are $13.50
    The cost will be prorated over the semester.

  • Purchase Permit In-Person
    Faculty, Staff and Student may purchase a motorcycle permit at Parking and Transportation (T-1400) Monday-Friday 7am - 5pm.
  • Display of Permit
    Motorcycle permits must be affixed in a prominent location on the left side of the rear bumper of the motorcycle.

Convertible Permits

  • All vehicles parked on campus must display a valid permit. Parking and Transportation offers registered owners of convertible vehicles an alternative to displaying the hangtag permit from the interior rearview mirror.
  • Complimentary convertible permits are available for Faculty, Staff and Students, who have a current valid semester or annual hangtag permit.
  • Complimentary convertible permits must be affixed in a prominent location on the left side of the rear bumper of the vehicle.
  • A completed permit application, return of current valid permit and vehicle DMV registration are required to receive a complimentary convertible permit.
  • Complimentary convertible permits must be renewed each semester at Parking and Transportation (T-1400).

Emeriti Permits

  • Emeriti permits are issued at the direction of the Office of the President.
  • Emeriti permits are valid in all faculty/staff, student surface lots, and parking structures.

University Support Permits

  • University Support permits are issued at the direction of the Office of the President.
  • University support permits are valid in 30 minute zones, faculty/staff, student lots, and parking structures.

Special Permits

  • Division Head approval is required.
  • Must be displayed with a valid faculty/staff permit.
  • Valid in 30 minutes zones, special permit zones and parking structures

Conditional Use Permits

  • Application for a conditional use permit must be approved by the Vice President of Administration and Finance.
  • Must be displayed with a valid faculty/staff permit.
  • Enables the holder to park only in a specific parking area.

Volunteer Permits

  • A completed CSU Volunteer identification document must be submitted. The document is available on Informed Filler under Employment Program and on the Human Resources website.
  • Volunteer permits are valid in student surface lots.

OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) Permits

  • OLLI permits are valid in lot J and student surface lots.
  • Distributed by the OLLI office.

Contractor/Vendor Permits

  • Enables Contractors/Vendors doing business on campus to park in specific areas.

CSU Reciprocity Parking Permit

Faculty Unit 3 Employees employed at two or more campuses shall not be required to purchase multiple parking passes. Procedures to implement the terms of this provision shall be determined by the CSU. This procedure will permit parking at all campuses where a faculty member is employed provided that the faculty unit employee has purchased a parking pass during the same academic term at a CSU campus.

  • Faculty must submit Other CSU Reciprocity form.
  • Faculty must own a faculty/staff permit from another CSU.
  • CSU reciprocity parking permit must be displayed with a valid faculty/staff permit.
  • CSU reciprocity parking permit enables the holder to park in faculty/staff, student surface lots and parking structures.
