Ride the Train
These programs are sure to give students a safe, easy alternative to driving alone. Forget traffic as you pull away from the train station with nothing but a smooth sail ahead of you. So what are you waiting for, a sig alert? Hop onto the fast growing trend of riding the train! If you want to reduce your commuting costs, alleviate commuting stress and make productive use of your commuting time, ride the train to campus!
Student Metrolink Discount Program- Save 25%!
Students enrolled in 12 units or more who commute to campus are eligible to purchase a discounted Metrolink 10-trip or monthly pass. You must pre-register for Metrolink's College Discount Pass program. You can call 714-278-3082, stop by the Parking & Transportation office located at T-1400 (North of the University Police Department) or use our Student Metrolink registration form (Adobe Acrobat Reader required.). Don’t forget to mail us a copy of your class schedule showing a minimum of 12 units with your Student Metrolink registration form.
Program Requirements:
- Only CSUF students enrolled in 12 units or more are eligible. Exceptions are made for graduate students (6 units).
- A current course schedule copy must be submitted with the registration form.
- Passes must be used for school purposes only. Misuse will result in immediate program disqualification. (Note: All Metrolink passes are stamped with a Fullerton destination.)
- All monthly and 10-trips passes must be purchased no later than the 10th day of the prior month of travel. (Example: January passes would be purchased no later than December 10th.)
- Payment must be received at the time of order. No Exceptions.
- All Metrolink pass sales are final, No Refunds.
- All passes must be picked up from the Parking & Transportation office.
- Passes can be mailed using Express Mail. A $15.00 fee will be charged to offset the cost.
CSUF Permit Saver Program- Save More!
Parking & Transportation Services is proud to offer the “Permit Saver Program,” for student Metrolink riders. Eligible students may receive an additional discount off Metrolink passes (approximately 50% off adult prices), if they do not own a CSUF semester parking permit. Program Requirements (in addition to the requirements stated above):
- Students must not own a current semester parking permit.
- It is the student’s responsibility to inform Transportation staff if they purchase a semester permit after submission of registration form.
- Incorrect information on registration form will result in immediate program dismissal.

To ease your campus commuting stress, try Metrolink for FREE! E-mail your name, phone number and the Metrolink stations you'll be commuting between to: cservices@fullerton.edu. Your request will be reviewed and free tickets will be requested for you. You will be contacted by staff once your tickets are available.
4-Trip passes are only available to CSUF Students who have not previously commuted to CSUF on Metrolink.
Amtrak
Amtrak offers students 15% off rail fare to all of their destinations. Detailed information is available on their website at www.amtrak.com.
Transportation to CSUF from local train stations
OCTA provides transportation between the Anaheim Canyon rail station and the Fullerton Transportation Center (rail station) to CSUF. OCTA route #24 provides transportation between Anaheim Canyon and CSUF. OCTA route #26 provides transportation between the Fullerton Transportation Center and CSUF. There is no fee to board an OCTA bus if you show your Metrolink pass. For train station and CSUF bus stop locations click here.
