If you want to reduce your commuting costs, alleviate commuting stress and make productive use of your commuting time, ride an OCTA bus to campus!
U-Pass Program
The U-Pass program was designed to get you to campus and back without the hassle. It is available to all CSUF students, faculty, and staff with a valid TitanCard. Just swipe your TitanCard through the fare box inside the bus, and your fare is automatically paid on all local routes. It’s easy. It’s convenient. And best of all, it’s FREE. CSUF parking ticket revenue funds this program.
OCTA - OC Express
Effective February 11, 2008, participants may now use their valid TitanCard to ride OC Express buses. Just swipe your TitanCard through the fare box inside the bus, and your fare is automatically paid. The OC Express limited-stop service will get you to and from CSUF faster. Plus, every seat on the OC Express has a lap tray, power connection, reading light and comfortable high-back seating. You can use your time to catch up on reading, work on your laptop, or just lean back and enjoy the ride.
Both Route 757 from Pomona/Diamond Bar and Route 758 from Chino/Diamond stop off at Brea Mall. From Brea Mall simply take Route 57 to CSUF. For detailed information on OC Express and current bus schedules please visit www.octa.net.
Encoding
Students, faculty and staff must have their TitanCard encoded with a U-Pass expiration date (see below). Cardholders must take their identification cards to the TitanCard office for encoding on an annual basis. Students must register and pay tuition fees for U-Pass eligibility. All new incoming freshmen will automatically have their cards encoded.
Yearly Renewal
U-Pass encoding expires each year on the last day of August. Be sure to get your current U-Pass encoded at the TitanCard office on an annual basis beginning June 1st.
Eligibility
The following individuals are eligible to use OCTA U-Pass program:
- Matriculated undergraduate and graduate students
- American Language Program (ALP) Students
- Current CSUF faculty and staff
- Emeriti
Metro/Transit Pass Reimbursement Program
Parking & Transportation will reimburse CSUF Faculty, Staff, and students who have purchased a Metro bus pass until an agreement is established with Metro to honor CSUF TitanCards. Metro honors all OCTA 7-, 15- and 30-Day Passes on its four Metro routes (275, 362, 460, 490) that operate into Orange County or connect with OCTA buses.
Other Transit Systems: Participants who live outside Orange County and use Foothill Transit, Laguna Beach Municipal Transit, Long Beach Transit and Riverside transit connecting with OCTA bus routes that provide direct service to CSUF, may be reimbursed $31 to $62 (the cost of an Metro monthly pass).
