Note: The current Commuter Program incentives end June 30, 2004. The new Commuter Choice Program begins July 1, 2004.

Take the train or bus to campus

If you want to reduce your commuting costs, alleviate commuting stress and make productive use of your commuting time, ride the bus or train to campus!

BUS

The U-Pass program was designed to get you to campus and back without the hassle. It is available to all CSUF students, faculty, and staff with a valid Titan Card. Just swipe your Titan Card through the farebox inside the bus, and your fare is automatically paid on all local routes. It’s easy. It’s convenient. And best of all, it’s FREE.

Metro honors OCTA monthly passes on all six Metro routes that serve Orange County (130, 275, 362, 460, 471, 490). We are currently trying to work out an agreement with Metro to honor CSUF Titan Cards. Until an agreement is made, we will reimburse Metro monthly bus passes for eligible students, faculty, and staff. Please click here for details.

In addition, by joining the Commuter Program, you will be eligible for other commuter benefits. Monthly tracking forms indicating days of participation must be submitted in order to receive commuter benefits.

For Commute Planning assistance or route information, please call 714-736-RIDE (7433). OCTA route information is also available in the Parking & Transportation office T-1400, or in the lobbies of Langsdorf Hall and the Titan Student Union.

TRAIN - Metrolink/Amtrak

Subsidies for Metrolink or Amtrak passes are paid as a reimbursement to registered participants. You can receive 50% to 100% off the monthly cost of your rail pass. Monthly tracking forms indicating days of participation along with a Xerox copy of the rail pass must be submitted in order to receive reimbursements. Reimbursement requests are reviewed and approved by Transportation Staff and submitted to Accounts Payable for processing. Please allow 6 weeks for processing. OCTA bus routes provide transportation to and from rail stations and campus. Please click here to see a schedule showing OCTA service to and from local train stations. There is no fee to board an OCTA bus if you show your Metrolink pass. Metrolink riders, do not use your Titan Card U-Pass to board an OCTA bus, show your Metrolink pass. If U-Pass is used, fees will be deducted from your transit reimbursement request. Only Amtrak riders may use their Titan Card U-Pass to board an OCTA bus. For Commute Planning assistance, call Metrolink at (800) 371-LINK or ext. 3082.

Participants may not receive commuter rewards or rail pass reimbursements in addition to the subsidized transit passes.
