Kinesiology and Health Science Building
Kinesiology and Health Science Building Addition
On Monday, September 17, 2001 construction began on the long-awaited Kinesiology and Health Science Building Addition. It will contain 56,570 gross square feet, 40,000 net. It includes 41 faculty offices; offices for the department of Kinesiology and Health promotion; a 125 seat lecture hall; other lecture and seminar rooms; a gymnasium; a wellness center which includes classrooms for biomechanics, exercise physiology, and physical assessment; and classrooms for anatomy and movement, motor behavior, performance enhancement, sports phychology, and group exercise.

The project site is large, extending from the south side of the existing Kinesiology and Health Science Building southward to the Library and from West Campus Loop eastward to the Memorial Grove. Temporary walkways will be installed to provide access all around the construction area. A map of the entire area with pedestrian routes indicated is attached for your use.
The Kinesiology and Health Science Building will remain open during construction. Directional signs will be placed at numerous locations around the area to aid pedestrians.
We believe that these new facilities, scheduled for completion in January, 2003, will significantly enhance our campus and will prove to have been worth the temporary inconvenience caused by their construction.
